African Development Bank (AfDB) reports a $12 billion investment
into Africa's Energy sector, to address access to power and
boost economic growth. This will clearly signal increasing work for
Law Firms engaged in this sector.
In 2015, AfDB provided $200million to address the challenges of the
Nigeria power sector by supporting Nigeria's Bulk Electricity
Trader to float bonds. AfDB also supported the construction of the
largest global concentrated solar power project- Morocco's Noor
Ouarzazate and the widely acclaimed Lake Turkana Wind Power project
in Kenya.
Just recently, AfDB authorized a $6 billion energy financing
facility granted by Japan to boost financial intermediation for the
power systems transition and clean coal technology required for
energy efficiency in Africa.
