Carey has helped the International Finance Corporation grant a
US$30 million loan to Chilean financial institution Banco
Consorcio.
The loan closed on 31 August.
In May, the IFC, which is the investment arm of the World Bank, made a US$140 million equity investment in Consorcio Financiero, giving it an 8.3 per cent stake in the bank. Carey teamed up with Becker, Glynn, Muffly, Chassin & Hosinski LLP in New York to advise the IFC on that deal.
