Slovak News - August 1996 - Banking Act

Slovakia Antitrust/Competition Law
The banking Board of the National Bank of Slovakia (BB NBS) approved a Decree by the Ministry of Finance (MF) of SR and by NBS implementing certain provisions of the Banking Act. The Decree determines certain requirements concerning maintenance of mortgage registers, and concerning information required to be submitted by a mortgage bank to NBS and to MF.

In addition, BB NBS approved a draft provision prescribing the method of maintaining registers of bank loans and collateral, as well as the scope of reporting of data by banks contained in the register. The purpose of the register is to provide Slovak banks and subsidiaries of foreign banks with sufficient information concerning credit exposure to clients and to secure information necessary for analytical and controlling activities of banking supervision by NBS.
