Bilindiği üzere Avrupa Parlamentosu, Avrupa Yeşil Mutabakatı kapsamında “2050 yılına kadar iklim-nötr Avrupa”2 hedefinin bir parçası olarak, 13 Haziran 2024 tarihinde 2024/1799 sayılı Malların Onarımını Teşvik Eden Ortak Kurallar Hakkında Direktifi’i (“Onarım Hakkı Direktifi/Direktif”) kabul etmişti. Direktif ile Avrupa Birliği, yerleşik tüketim alışkanlıklarını dönüştürmeyi ve döngüsel ekonomiye geçişi hızlandırmayı amaçlamaktaydı.
