It has been a busy twelve months of the Cayman Islands government embracing technology in its processes and services, the Cayman Islands government encouraging technology companies to move to the Cayman Islands and develop a technology industry in the Cayman Islands, and the Cayman Islands financial services regulator (the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority, or the Authority) and technology regulator (the Utility Regulation and Competition Office, or OfReg) educating themselves about blockchain, smart contracts and cryptocurrencies.
