Chilean firm Carey has helped Israeli electricity generation company IC Power obtain a loan from Santander.

Santander hired Garrigues (Chile) for the transaction.

The loan refinances a previous credit line supplied by Banco Crédito e Inversiones and Itaú Corpbanca in 2011 to IC Power's controlled power plant Central Cardones, which is located in Copiapó, Northern part of the country, and has a 153-megawatt installed capacity.

Both banks transferred their credits to Santander.

The value of the deal, signed on 28 August, was not disclosed.
