The MSRB issued a draft set of frequently asked questions ("FAQs") regarding the recently adopted MSRB Rule G-40 on professional advertisements by municipal advisors. Comments on the draft FAQs must be submitted by July 27, 2018.

The MSRB issued the draft FAQs in order to provide guidance on the use of municipal advisory client lists and case studies under the new advertising standards. The MSRB is requesting comments from municipal advisors and other market participants on:

  • how the draft FAQs could be revised to improve understanding of Rule G-40;
  • additional FAQs that relate to a municipal advisor's use of a municipal advisory client list or case study; and
  • general improvements to the draft FAQs.
