SEC Acting Enforcement Director Marc P. Berger will depart the agency by the end of January 2021.

Mr. Berger first joined the SEC as New York Regional Office Director in December 2017 before becoming Deputy Director of the Division of Enforcement in August 2020. Mr. Berger became Acting Director upon Director Stephanie Avakian's departure at the end of December 2020.

Before joining the SEC, Mr. Berger worked in private practice and served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Southern District of New York, and as Chief of the Southern District of New York's Securities and Commodities Fraud Task Force.
