President Donald J. Trump nominated
R. Alexander Acosta for Secretary of Labor, following
Andrew Puzder's withdrawal from consideration for the post. Mr.
Acosta's previous experience includes serving as a member of
the National Labor Relations Board and as the U.S. Attorney for the
Southern District of Florida. Mr. Acosta stated that:
"I am deeply grateful and honored for the opportunity to
serve my country. I thank the President and his staff for their
confidence in me and I am eager to work tirelessly on behalf of the
American worker."
