The FDIC named Sylvia Burns as the new Chief Information Officer ("CIO") and Chief Privacy Officer. Ms. Burns is replacing Howard Whyte, who is leaving the FDIC this month.

The FDIC named Sylvia Burns as the new Chief Information Officer ("CIO") and Chief Privacy Officer. Ms. Burns is replacing Howard Whyte (see previous coverage), who is leaving the FDIC this month.

Ms. Burns joined the agency in September 2018 and led the agency's five-year IT modernization plan. Previously, she served as CIO at the Department of the Interior.
