FinCEN invited the public to nominate members for the Bank Secrecy Act Advisory Group (the "Group"). The Group serves as adviser to the Treasury on the operations of the Bank Secrecy Act.

In its Notice and Request for Nominations, FinCEN said the public may nominate any financial institution, trade group, or non-federal regulator or law enforcement agency for a three-year membership term. FinCEN requested that submitted nominations include:

  • the organization's name;
  • a point of contact's information;
  • a description of the financial institution or trade group and its involvement with the Bank Secrecy Act; and
  • reasons why the organization's participation will bring value to the Group.

Nominations must be submitted within 30 days after the date of publication in the Federal Register.
