We have received reports that the "WAN HAI 502", a 2005 built container vessel flying the Singaporean flag, has grounded in the Karimata Strait in the South China sea whilst travelling at full speed.
We understand that the international salvors Smit are contracted and salvage assets have been mobilised. It is likely that there will be claims for salvage and GA as well recovery of losses. The claim for LOF salvage will be subject to English law and London arbitration.
