Now that the DTI has published details of when the various parts of the Companies Act 2006 will be brought into force, companies need to start actively looking at how the Act will affect them. To help with this process, we are publishing two notes:
- An overview of the whole Act, which highlights how the existing law will be changed and, in particular, the effect of the new provisions on directors’ duties and derivative actions. This is an updated and expanded version of the note we published in November, ‘Companies Act 2006: Deferred reform’.
- An implementation timetable, which identifies when the most important sections will come into force. It also includes links to other articles we have published about particular changes.
