The fee to make an application to the Court of Protection will reduce to £365 from 22 July 2019.
United Kingdom Litigation, Mediation & Arbitration

The fee to make an application to the Court of Protection will reduce to £365 from 22 July 2019. The Court Fees (Miscellaneous Amendment) Order 2019 was laid before parliament on 1 July 2019. The Order decreases Court fees payable in certain areas including the Court of Protection.

The application fee for Court of Protection matter is to decrease from £385 to £365. Appeal fees at the Court of Protection will also reduce from £320 to £230 with a hearing fee reducing by £15 to £485.

The fee for detailed assessment of costs carried out by the Senior Court Costs Office is also set to change. Whereas previously the cost for detailed assessment was dependent on whether the bill to be assessed was under or over £3,000, from 22 July 2019, these fees will be merged and the fee for any detailed assessment will be £85.
