Today the President of the European Commission, Mr Jean-Claude Juncker, wrote a letter to the President of the European Council, Mr Donald Tusk, stating that the European Commission and UK Government have reached agreement on a revised Protocol on Ireland/Northern Ireland and on a revised Political Declaration. Mr Juncker commented in his letter that: "I believe it is high time to complete the withdrawal process and move on, as swiftly as possible, to the negotiation on the European Union's future partnership with the United Kingdom".

The Revised Protocol on Ireland/Northern Ireland and Revised Political Declaration were published earlier this morning on the European Commission's website.

The UK Government does not have a majority in the House of Commons and at the time of this post the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) are saying that they do not support the revised deal.
