The Government today published an important document related to its no-deal planning (code named “Operation Yellowhammer”). This document reveals the Government’s view (as of 2 August 2019) as to the reasonable worst case scenario expected in the event of a no-deal Brexit. The Government was legally required to disclose this document following a motion introduced in the House of Commons on 9 September 2019 (which passed by 311 votes to 302 votes) prior to the proroguing of Parliament on the same day.
