On August 8, 2020, the Regulation on the Amendment of the Regulation on Commercial Communication and Commercial Electronic Messages ("the Regulation") has published in the Official Gazette numbered 30998. With the Regulation, the deadline for transferring commercial electronic message opt-in consents to the Message Management System ("IYS") by service providers has been extended until December 1, 2020.
The opt-in consents which are registered with the IYS will be checked by the recipients until January 16, 2021. The registered opt-in consents which are not checked or not canceled by the recipients until January 16, 2021, and commercial electronic messages that will be sent after January 16, 2021, will be deemed valid. The message containing this issue and information on the opt-out is required to be sent to the recipients within the scope of the amendment.
