Walkers is pleased to announce that Cayman Islands partner, Colette Wilkins QC, will be relocating to the firm's Hong Kong office to lead its Asia litigation practice from January 2022.
The move forms an integral part of Walkers' ongoing client focused strategy to provide best-in-class contentious insolvency, shareholder disputes and corporate governance and fraud services from Walkers' global network, while expanding the firm's global litigation function as client demand grows.
Colette brings a depth of experience to the litigation practice in Asia. Earlier this year, she was elevated to the distinguished rank of Queen's Counsel, an appointment that acknowledges ability as an advocate and seniority in the legal profession. Colette has been a commercial litigator for over 30 years and is a highly regarded litigation attorney in the Cayman Islands, where she has practised for the past 15 years after her early career at the English Bar.
Specialising in high value financial services related litigation, asset recovery and contentious insolvency, Colette will continue to focus on Cayman Islands law from Walkers' Hong Kong office. She is recognised as eminent in her field by all major independent legal directories including Chambers Global (Band 1), Legal 500 (Tier 1) and Who's Who Legal (Global Elite Thought Leader) and has twice been named 'Cayman Islands Attorney of the Year' by the Recovery and Insolvency Specialists Association. Colette currently heads Walkers' acclaimed Cayman Islands litigation practice in conjunction with partner, Neil Lupton. The team's highly experienced partners frequently appear in many of the leading cases in the Grand Court and the Court of Appeal in the Cayman Islands.
