The global law firm Jones Day announced that Dorothy Giobbe has joined the Firm's Financial Markets Practice as of counsel in its New York Office.

Ms. Giobbe joins after serving as Executive Director and Assistant General Counsel in the Emerging Technology Practice Group of a global financial services company, based in New York. For the past 11 years, she led legal support for global FinTech and emerging technology business initiatives, led the company's legal engagement with state attorneys general in alignment with consumer and community banking business priorities, directed all aspects of complex litigation and risk mitigation strategies, and managed internal investigations and responses to federal and state regulatory inquiries.

At Jones Day, Ms. Giobbe joins a team of nearly 320 lawyers who advise on the full range of complex cross-border financial transactions, regulatory matters, investigations, and litigation. She will represent a diverse client base of global financial institutions, issuers, borrowers, funds, asset managers, and FinTech companies.

Ms. Giobbe also worked as a litigation associate in the New York office of a global law firm, where she was involved with a wide variety of complex commercial litigation matters, and later seconded to the in-house legal department of a major consumer healthcare products and pharmaceutical company, at the client's request.

Ms. Giobbe earned her law degree from Brooklyn Law School and her undergraduate degree from Boston University.
