Clients and Friends:

As some of you may already be aware, I joined Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer LLP back in September of 2020. I, along with my new colleagues, decided my move warranted a thorough remodeling of the two appellate analytics blogs I've managed and maintained for a number of years—California Supreme Court Review and Illinois Supreme Court Review. The blogs bring rigorous, law-review style empirical research founded on data analytic techniques to the study of appellate decision making. They also allow us to share insights culled from tens of thousands of pages of opinions about the California and Illinois Justices and their decision-making process, the parties, and issues which come before the Courts.

The design of the blogs has been completely reimagined to more closely match our Arnold & Porter sister blogs: BioSlice Blog; Qui Notes: Unlocking the False Claims Act; and Enforcement Edge: Shining Light on Government Enforcement. The new designs look great, no matter how readers access them—desktop, laptop, tablet, or mobile phone. Also, we have completely rebuilt and simplified the category and tag structure for each blog's archive, making our past analytics analysis easier for readers to find.

If you already subscribe to the blogs, I hope you enjoy the new designs and find them easier to navigate. If you are just learning about the blogs via this message, I invite you to explore them and hopefully subscribe.

Best regards, and happy new year.
