New challenges and opportunities are quickly reshaping the financial services industry, with financial services practitioners needing to address them while concurrently understanding the evolving risks and regulatory landscape.

Within this context, the Institute of Financial Services Practitioners (IFSP) will hold its Annual Conference on 21 February, 2020. The theme of this year's conference is Financial Services: Vision 20/20. The event is an opportunity for practitioners to keep pace with the challenges of the industry and a chance to network with other peers.

GANADO Advocates will be participating at the Conference.

Dr Stephen Attard, the senior partner heading the firm's Corporate Finance and Tax department, will be moderating a panel dealing with recent practical developments at the Malta Business Registry, identification of areas of improvement in the Registry's operations as well as by practitioners, and the outlook over the coming years for companies incorporated in Malta.

Senior partner Dr Max Ganado will be participating in the Fintech breakout session which will cover traditional financial services offered through technological channels as well as blockchain and virtual assets.

The Conference will also tackle DAC6, Automatic Exchange of Information, Registers of Beneficial Ownership, AML developments and the impact of the 2019 Moneyval report, the challenges and opportunities of CSPs, banking in Malta, the macroeconomic trends and their impacts on financial services and a fiscal update. Three breakout groups will tackle Fintech, Transparency, and Rethinking the Regulatory Approach towards Capital Markets Listings.
