Ogier private wealth specialist Marcus Leese is moderating an expert panel on global trustee regulation at the STEP Alpine Conference on 16 January. The conference will see over 200 attendees comprising Swiss and international trustees, Swiss and international lawyers, private bankers, and other advisors to the private wealth community.

Marcus will be joined on the panel by H.S.H. Prince Michael of Liechtenstein and Paul Davis, where the discussion will focus on the regulation of trustees across a number of different jurisdictions and will cover important recent regulatory changes, including updates to licencing requirements for Guernsey Private Trust Companies, the new Liechtenstein Governance system for trustees, as well as the new agenda of regulators and a look ahead to likely regulatory changes in the future.

Other topics to be covered across the two-day event include trustee regulation in Switzerland, economic substance rules, beneficial ownership registers, Swiss corporate tax reform, family governance, art, investing in real estate abroad, and the development of trust law in Switzerland.

Marcus Leese said: "The private wealth area is fundamentally international and constantly developing. STEP Alpine is an ideal opportunity for advisers across the region and beyond to share expertise and insights on new developments from a range of jurisdictions. I look forward to what promises to be an insightful and wide-ranging panel discussion."
