DENVER (December 4, 2019) – Fisher Phillips, a national labor and employment law firm representing employers, announces the addition of Brett M. Wendt as a Partner in the firm's Denver office.

Brett was part of his prior firm's National Employment Group with a practice that encompassed all aspects of employment law from training and counseling to defending complex disputes. As a skilled trial attorney, he represented employers at all phases of the litigation process, and he has tried dozens of cases in both federal and state courts. Brett's litigation experience spans a variety of matters including wage and hour class actions, non-competition agreements, discrimination, and wrongful termination. He most recently served in-house as Executive Vice President and General Counsel of a publicly traded company with a portfolio of high quality service providers for the regulated cannabis industry.

"Clients count on me to predict and mitigate their employment issues, advise them in problem-solving and navigating workplace disputes, and, when necessary, serve as trusted counsel at every phase of the trial process," said Brett. "Fisher Phillips' labor and employment focus aligns perfectly with my practice, and I'm looking forward to having the support of the firm's highly-regarded team and platform as I continue helping employers handle the most complex matters they're facing in today's market."

Brett raises the lawyer count in Denver to 19, which is more than triple the number of attorneys since the office opened in 2008. His arrival adds to the recent growth trajectory as the Denver office prepares to double its physical footprint with a 2020 move to new space within the city's Central Business District.

"It's an exciting time for the office, and we're thrilled to have a lawyer of Brett's caliber on the team," said Michael Greco, Regional Managing Partner of Fisher Phillips' Denver office. "Our recent growth has created a need to expand our physical space to accommodate our new talent, and that's what our 2020 office move is all about. We are moving into a location that will provide double the space for our lawyers to grow and thrive in a collaborative environment focused on providing clients with the stellar service they have come to expect from Fisher Phillips both in Denver and across the nation."

Before joining his previous firm, Brett served as Vice President and General Counsel for the nation's largest underground utility locating company. In that role, Brett was responsible for managing outside counsel in 26 states with a focus on efficient resolution and litigation avoidance.

As a thought leader, Brett frequently lectures on a wide range of employment laws and workplace concerns, including the rapidly evolving area of medical and legal marijuana. He earned his law degree from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law and he earned his bachelor's degree from the University of New Mexico.
