Global law firm Clyde & Co has appointed Andrew Yarwood as a partner in its London marine cargo group.
Andrew joins from Kennedys where he specialises in marine insurance, advising cargo insurers including Lloyd's syndicates and the company market, in relation to disputes arising out of the carriage of goods by sea. Andrew regularly advises insurers on liability and coverage issues, including drafting policy wordings and acts for cargo insurers in defending claims for salvage and general average as well as pursuing recoveries against shipowners arising out of casualties at sea.
Before qualifying with Waltons & Morse in 2012, he had a career in international sales and as a claims handler on the Spanish and South American desks of the Britannia P&I Club.

In 2016 the marine cargo team in London and Guildford was boosted with the hire of Chris Pratts as Partner (from Walton & Morse, now part of Kennedys) alongside and Cameron Boyd, a junior associate from Roose & Partners. In 2018 the firm promoted Emma Rice to partner in its Manchester office, where the marine team now numbers over 10. Nationally the team has hired a number of associates from other marine firms in recent months.
