Ogier Partner Joanne Huckle has been identified as one of the leading women globally in the investment sector, with her nomination in Investment Week's prestigious Women in Investment Awards.

The list of nominees has been chosen from over 1,300 entries.

Jo's entry focussed on her track record advising global hedge funds, hybrid funds and private equity funds, top tier investment managers, allocators and family offices on fund launch and ongoing regulatory compliance, and her work supporting the careers of women in the investment sector.

Jo actively supports gender equality in the investment industry, both at home in the Cayman Islands (through 100 Women in Finance, the NPO Gender Equality Cayman and as an organiser of women's educational and networking events) and internationally – her most recent speaking arrangement was alongside Warren Buffet at the Women's Variant Perspectives Conference in Omaha.

In 2017 she was the youngest person to be made partner in Ogier's history, and the first female partner in the Cayman investment funds team. She was made partner two weeks after she returned from maternity leave following the birth of her twin boys, and has become a dedicated mentor to other women forging careers within the investment industry while trying to achieve a work-life balance.

Jo said: "I'm honoured to receive this nomination given how exceptional the level of talent is among my fellow nominees. I'm a firm supporter of recognising and celebrating women's achievements, especially in fields where they are underrepresented, and these awards help to highlight the excellent work being done by women across the globe in the funds industry."

The winners will be announced in an awards ceremony on 27 November in London.
