LMG Life Sciences honored Deanne Maynard with the 2019 Appellate Litigator of the Year – Intellectual Property award at a ceremony in New York on September 18th. In addition to the personal accolade, Morrison & Foerster was presented with two awards for litigating "Impact Cases of the Year," including Patent Impact Case of the Year for its work on the biologics case Amgen v. Sandoz (Fed. Cir. 2019).Partners Erik Olson and Eric Pai led the successful Morrison & Foerster district court team in that Biologics Price Competition and Innovation Act case, with Deanne and partner Brian Matsui leading the appellate victory.

A number of Morrison & Foerster lawyers attended the ceremony in support of Deanne and to represent the firm in its additional recognitions. The table included partners Michael Ward, Jonathan Bockman, Bethany Hills, and Matthew Karlyn, as well as associates Joshua Crawford and Nathan Vogler. Also in attendance was Matthew D'Amore, former Morrison & Foerster partner and current Associate Dean of Cornell Tech.

The event, which was part of the 2019 research cycle for LMG Life Sciences, presented categories that recognize work in the four main practice areas covered by the guide, including: regulatory, intellectual property, financial and corporate, and litigation and enforcement.
