Paul Micallef Grimaud, partner within the Intellectual Property, TMT and data protection practice and Philip Formosa, associate within the same practice area at GANADO Advocates, attended the Lex Mundi Intellectual Property (IP) working group annual meeting hosted by Pestalozzi in Zurich over the 12th and 13th of September. During this event, attended by IP partners from leading firms within the Lex Mundi network, Paul participated in a panel debate that focused on the production of evidence in IP cases.

During his intervention, Paul explained the procedures adopted by Maltese Courts and the various laws dealing with the production of evidence and expert witnesses in IP litigation in Malta, as a jurisdiction adopting a hybrid set of Civil/Common law principles, intermingled with norms deriving from EU legislation, and drawing parallels and distinctions with the presentations of the other participants from other jurisdictions.
