Ogier has been awarded its fourth major industry award this year after being named Offshore Law Firm of the Year at the Asian Legal Business Hong Kong Law Awards 2019.

The recognition follows a series of big-ticket transactions for Ogier in the region, demonstrating the team's prowess in managing the largest and most complex deals, providing insightful and innovative solutions and the highest levels of service and responsiveness.

"This award is an endorsement of the excellent work our team is consistently delivering," said Ogier's Hong Kong practice partner Nicholas Plowman. "The ALB awards pay tribute to the outstanding performance of private practitioners and in-house teams in Hong Kong and around the region. We are delighted to have been recognised in awards of this calibre."

Ogier's 70-strong Hong Kong office offers with partner-led service lines providing advice on BVI, Cayman and Jersey law. For the Asia region, Ogier focuses on international finance and corporate law with an emphasis on investment funds, PE, M&A, capital markets and finance. Its private wealth practice advises HNWIs and families throughout Asia, as well as a dispute resolution practice providing contentious and non-contentious restructuring and insolvency legal services.

Ogier's Hong Kong team has recently acted on:

  •          Foxconn Industrial Internet's RMB 27 billion IPO, China's largest domestic listing since 2015
  •          LionRock Capital's acquisition of a 31.05% share in footballing giant Inter Milan
  •          The launch of the $300 million Cybernaut New Frontier Venture Fund

Ogier's Hong Kong team has grown significantly to meet client demand, including welcoming lateral hires from other top-flight Hong Kong law firms and promoting eight across its legal and corporate services teams in recent earlier in the year.

Ogier was named Offshore Law Firm of the Year by Legal Business in March, WealthBriefing in April and The Lawyer in June.
