Day Pitney LLP was honored as a "Law Firm Leader" at the Greater Hartford Legal Aid (GHLA) Foundation's annual event on July 18 at the Gershon Fox Ballroom in Hartford. The Foundation honored leaders in the legal industry who have dedicated their time, expertise and financial resources to help GHLA end poverty and fight for justice in the Greater Hartford area. The event featured a keynote speech by former U.S. Attorney General Eric H. Holder, Jr.

"We are very proud of this recognition as Day Pitney continues to support Greater Hartford Legal Aid and its critical mission of improving access to the legal system for those less fortunate," said Tom Goldberg, the firm's managing partner, who accepted the award on behalf of the firm.

For more than 20 years, Day Pitney has supported GHLA through various contributions and service initiatives. Hartford partner Paul Belval, who has been on the GHLA Board of Directors since 2013 and currently serves as Treasurer, was honored individually at last year's event for his years of dedication and support of the organization. Partner Joseph Scully, also based in the firm's Hartford office, currently serves on the Board of Directors of the GHLA Foundation.

Since 1958, GHLA has increased access to the courts, advocated for fairness in the application of law, and broken down barriers and improved systems while practicing preventative law. For more information about the organization and its work, click here.
