Morrison & Foerster is acting as lead advisor to Hassad Food, Qatar's leading investor in the food sector, in its acquisition of a significant minority equity stake in Sunrise Foods International, the world's largest supplier of organic grains and oilseeds.
The transaction is a strategic investment for Hassad, in the context of exponential global demand for organic products. The investment is anticipated to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2019.
Hassad's CEO, Mr. Mohamed Al-Sadah, commented on the new investment: "We are delighted to enter into a long-term strategic partnership with Sunrise Foods."
