On June 12, 2019, long-time Withers client Global Lyme Alliance (GLA) announced their partnership with the Sidewalk Angels Foundation (SWA) to share the importance of protecting your entire family from Lyme and other tick-borne diseases. Warmer weather leads to more time spent outdoors and increased exposure to Lyme disease. We are all at risk, including our furry friends.

The Sidewalk Angels Foundation, founded by musician Rob Thomas and his wife, Marisol, is dedicated to providing funds and support to over 20 no-kill animal shelters and animal rescues across the country. Through this partnership, SWA and GLA seek to raise awareness concerning the real risk of contracting Lyme disease and promote tick bite prevention for all members of your family, including your pets.

This partnership is driven by Marisol's personal journey with tick-borne illness and her passion for helping and protecting pets. Cases of Lyme disease continue to increase, doubling for people over the last ten years and doubling for dogs over the last five. A single tick-bite can be debilitating, and in rare cases, cause death.

"We're honored to work with Marisol and Rob to help bring more attention to this insidious disease and provide information to protect all family members," said CEO of Global Lyme Alliance, Scott Santarella. "Marisol and Rob's work through SWA exemplifies their compassion and commitment to fighting for those battling injustice."

Withers is proud to represent an organization that is dedicated to conquering Lyme and other tick-borne diseases through research, education, and awareness. To learn more about Lyme and tick-borne disease prevention and symptoms, go to: GLA.org/SWA.
