Day Pitney LLP is proud to announce that the firm has received the George J. and Patricia K. Ritter Pro Bono Award from the Connecticut Fair Housing Center, a statewide nonprofit civil rights organization dedicated to ensuring that all people have equal access to housing opportunities in Connecticut, free from discrimination.

The award, which recognizes Day Pitney's service to the Center and its clients, was presented at the Center's 25th anniversary celebration held at The Tavern at Keney Park in Windsor, Connecticut. Day Pitney attorney Andraya Pulaski Brunau, who serves on the Center's board of directors, was in attendance along with fellow attorneys including the firm's Pro Bono Committee Chair Theresa Kelly, who accepted the award on behalf of the firm. A number of Day Pitney attorneys work on pro bono matters for the Center, including Joseph Scully, Joseph Nawrocki, Elizabeth Retersdorf and Ignacio Riesco.

Day Pitney's relationship with the Connecticut Fair Housing Center dates back 16 years, with the firm handling pro bono matters including representing a disabled individual in obtaining handicap accessible housing, providing tax advice for the settlement of a housing discrimination claim and handling a fair debt collection matter on behalf of the Center, as well as other litigation matters. The firm was also previously recognized for its pro bono contributions to the Center in 2017, 2015, 2013 and 2009.
