"The Grand Rapids Veterans Bar Association is dedicated to providing opportunities for our members to network, volunteer, and mentor other veterans in the legal profession and our community."
The Marion Hilligan Public Service Award is presented to lawyers who reflect greater individual responsibility in promoting public health and welfare through law and is given in honor of WMU Cooley Grand Rapids campus' former Associate Dean Marion Hilligan, who passed away in 2007. The Grand Rapids Veterans Bar Association was founded in 2009 by Ed Perdue, Joe Rossi and Brian Lennon. The organization's goal is to provide networking and service opportunities to local veteran attorneys from all branches of military.
