Stan Twardy was quoted in an article, "5 Things to Know About John Durham—Barr's Pick to Probe Root of Russia Investigation," published by the Connecticut Law Tribune. The article details the professional background of John Durham, U.S. Attorney for the District of Connecticut, who according to reports has been assigned to examine the origins of the Russia probe by U.S. Attorney General William Barr. As noted in the article, Durham has a reputation for being nonpartisan and not allowing any leaks in his investigations.

Twardy, former U.S. Attorney for Connecticut from 1985 to 1991, has known Durham for more than three decades and told the Connecticut Law Tribune that Durham "is straight down the middle."

"He is a person of tremendous integrity and is completely apolitical," said Twardy. "He does not have a political bias in any way...He avoids it by keeping his head down and conducting the investigation without leaks. He is as close to Bob Mueller as anyone can be. He will conduct the investigation thoroughly."
