NEW YORK (April 23, 2019) – Morrison & Foerster, a leading global law firm, is pleased to announce that Peter Rooney has joined the firm's New York office as a partner in its market-leading Mergers & Acquisitions Group. Mr. Rooney will also play an integral role in further building out Morrison & Foerster's Private Equity practice. He brings to the firm 25 years of experience representing private equity funds and their portfolio companies, as well as other public and private companies.

Throughout his career, Mr. Rooney has frequently represented non-U.S. companies and investment funds, including sovereign wealth funds, from over 20 countries investing into the United States. Mr. Rooney also represents several financial services firms, including broker-dealers, securities exchanges, and trading venues. Much of this work involves matters at the convergence of technology and financial services.

Mr. Rooney is admitted to practice in both New York and Delaware. He earned his J.D. from University of Pennsylvania Law School and his B.A. from Amherst College.
