PARIS, May 8, 2026 – Proskauer advised Quercus Énergies and its partners on the sale of a ground-mounted photovoltaic power plant project at Sonzay 1 (Indre-et-Loire) to JP Energie Environnement (JPEE) and Générale du Solaire.

JP Energie Environnement and Générale du Solaire, two French independent renewable energy producers, have thus acquired a photovoltaic power plant project forming the third phase of the Champs Solaires de Touraine development.

With a capacity of 87 MW, the solar park will generate more than 100 GWh of green electricity per year. This output is intended to supply, over the long term, SNCF Energie—a subsidiary of SNCF Voyageurs—under a Corporate Power Purchase Agreement (CPPA), illustrating the growing role of such agreements in the financing and development of renewable energy infrastructure. This transaction also represents one of the two largest CPPAs concluded to date by SNCF Energie.

Following completion of the transaction, JPEE and Générale du Solaire will jointly own the project operating company in equal shares. Générale du Solaire will oversee construction management, while JPEE will be responsible for maintenance, reflecting the complementary nature of their respective expertise.

This project forms part of the development of the Champs Solaires de Touraine, a large-scale photovoltaic complex developed by Quercus Énergies on a former agricultural brownfield site, ultimately representing 166 MW installed on a single site. It is one of the largest photovoltaic projects of its kind in France.

The Proskauer team was led by partner Pierre-Marie Boya and included associate Arthur Deschamps (Private Equity M&A).

Proskauer worked alongside Hogan Lovells (Christine Le Bihan‑Graf and Maxime Gardellin) on regulatory and energy-related aspects.
