Washington, DC / Delegates who attended last week's semi-annual member meeting in Seattle, Washington, USA, held elections for the next WLG President and Board of Directors. All board members serve a two-year term. Our current Regional Directors (Luc Attlan of Faegre Drinker, Brendan Clark of MinterEllison in Australia, and Jessica Mohaupt-Schneider of CMS Germany) have one year remaining on their terms, and they will serve alongside:

Stuart Young of Gowling WLG in Birmingham, England, was elected President and began his two-year term on November 9, 2025. As the head of the firm's Corporate Practice Group, he is a Partner specializing in M&A transactions. Stuart is a WLG Key Contact Partner, a member of the WLG Membership Committee, and previously served on WLG's Program Planning Subcommittee and three terms on WLG's Board of Directors.

Ignacio Minorini Lima of Bruchou & Funes de Rioja in Buenos Aires, Argentina, will serve as Secretary. He leads the firm's Administrative & Regulatory Law, and International Arbitration practices and is a Partner in the Energy department. Ignacio is a WLG Key Contact Partner and Co-chair of WLG's Energy & Infrastructure Group. He led WLG's Business Development Committee for the past four years.

Per Lidman of Setterwalls in Malmoe, Sweden, will serve another term as Treasurer. He is the former Managing Partner and now leads the firm's Life Sciences team, overseeing patent litigation, regulatory life sciences matters, and trademark and marketing law issues. Apart from contentious IP matters, Per's practice generally focuses on commercial transactions where IP or technology issues are at the core. He is a WLG Key Contact Partner and Co-chair of WLG's Intellectual Property Group.

Alfredo D'Aniello is a Partner at Gianni & Origoni in its Rome and Milan offices, serving on the firm's M&A Steering Committee. His practice focuses on corporate and commercial law and advising clients on a wide variety of mergers and acquisitions transactions, including cross-border, private equity, and joint venture transactions across numerous sectors. Alfredo is a WLG Key Contact Partner, is a member of WLG's Corporate Transactions Group, and will serve as a Director.

Suganthi Singam is a Partner at Shearn Delamore & Co. in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and will serve as a Director. She specializes in employment and immigration in both contentious and non-contentious matters. For corporate acquisitions and mergers, Suganthi provides strategic guidance in dealing with employment and related immigration issues that arise. She is a WLG Key Contact Partner and Co-chair of WLG's Labor & Employment Practice Group, and previously served on WLG's Program Planning Subcommittee.

Michelle Vigod, elected as a Director, is a Partner and Co-chair of the Mergers and Acquisitions Group at Goodmans LLP in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Her practice involves all aspects of corporate and securities law, with a focus on mergers and acquisitions, private equity, and corporate finance. Michelle advises public and private companies on a broad range of domestic and cross-border transactions. She is a WLG Key Contact Partner and WLG Program Planning Subcommittee member.
