Macfarlanes has advised Polus Capital Management on the launch of its first closed-ended commingled special situations fund, Polus Special Situations Fund, which has raised commitments of approximately €890m, in excess of its original target.

The fund will continue Polus’ successful special situations strategy, investing into entities that are in financial distress or other special situations within predominantly the UK and Europe. Commitments for the fund were raised from a diverse group of investors across the Americas, Europe, Middle East, and Asia.

The Macfarlanes team was led by Private Funds Partner Stephen Ross, alongside Associates Amelia Le Coyte, Ashley Mount and Sweta Tandle. Tax advice was provided by Tax and Reward Partners Joe Robinson and Alicia Osei, and Senior Associate Rebecca Rose.
