Dickinson Wright is pleased to announce that J. Morgan Dixon has
joined the firm's Chicago office as an Associate.
Morgan focuses his practice on IP litigation, where he helps
clients navigate high-stakes IP disputes involving cutting-edge
technology. His work spans patent litigation, licensing disputes,
and conflicts related to emerging tech. Morgan has represented both
plaintiffs and defendants in cases involving everything from mobile
technologies and telecommunication standards to medical wearable
devices and robotics. He also advises on data privacy, biometric
data, and artificial intelligence regulations—areas that are
quickly evolving and increasingly critical across industries.
After law school, Morgan prepared and prosecuted patent and
trademark applications with a boutique firm in New Orleans and
Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Thereafter, he served as a judicial law
clerk for two federal judges—the Hon. Roy S. Payne in the
Eastern District of Texas and the Hon. Dee D. Drell in the Western
District of Louisiana—gaining firsthand insight into the
federal litigation process, particularly in patent-heavy dockets.
Before joining Dickinson Wright, Morgan was part of the
Intellectual Property Litigation group of an AM 100 law firm.
Morgan received his B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Louisiana
State University, his M.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Tulane
University College of Arts and Sciences, and his joint J.D. and
M.B.A. from Tulane Law School and Tulane Freeman School of
Business.
