Appleby is pleased to announce its application for a license from China's Ministry of Justice to provide offshore legal services in Shenzhen has been approved. Upon opening, Appleby will become the first offshore law firm with two offices in Mainland China, and the only offshore firm with a legal office outside of Shanghai. The Shenzhen office will be a full offshore legal service offering, covering the full spectrum of corporate and commercial law, dispute resolution and private client and trusts.
The Appleby Shenzhen office will be the law firm's 11th office worldwide and its second in Mainland China, demonstrating Appleby's confidence in its long-term and stable development in the Chinese market. This marks Appleby's 35th year in Asia, following the opening of its Hong Kong office in 1990. Appleby was the first offshore firm with a practice license issued by China's Ministry of Justice and re-launched its Shanghai office in 2023.
