Sheppard Mullin represented CalPortland Company in its $160 million acquisition of the assets and business of Grimes Rock, Inc. and State Ready Mix, Inc. CalPortland is one of the largest and oldest construction materials providers in California and throughout the western United States. Grimes Rock and State Ready Mix produce aggregates and ready-mixed concrete in Ventura, California. The acquisition will enhance CalPortland’s geographic footprint in Southern California.
Sheppard Mullin special counsel Derek Rockers led the deal team with partner Leo Caseria leading the Hart-Scott-Rodino Act and antitrust aspects of the deal. Associate Rabia Paracha assisted on the real estate portion of the deal.
