The Financial Times has shortlisted Foley Hoag LLP in two categories for its 2024 Innovative Lawyers North America Awards. The awards recognize law firms, in-house teams, and lawyers who are developing and delivering new ways to serve clients and drive positive change in the legal profession.

Foley Hoag was shortlisted for:

Innovative Practitioner – Christina Hioureas. Hioureas founded and serves as Chair of Foley Hoag’s United Nations Practice Group, a first-of-its-kind practice tailored to the needs of States and other relevant stakeholders on matters before the UN. Drawing on her commitment to human rights, gender justice, as well as climate change and sustainability issues, Hioureas advises sovereign States and other relevant stakeholders on these issues and others before the UN and before international courts and tribunals. She is also Global Co-Chair of the Foley Hoag’s International Litigation & Arbitration Department.

Innovation in People & Skills – Foley Hoag BD Catalyst. The BD Catalyst is a year-long business development initiative that transforms how associates and counsel develop essential marketing and client development skills often overlooked in traditional legal education. The initiative features gamified activities intended to build essential client service and networking tied to career development benchmarks with progress tracked through a proprietary online portal. Through this structured approach, BD Catalyst builds essential business development skills while strengthening firm culture by fostering connections between junior lawyers and experienced partners.

These recognitions highlight Foley Hoag's commitment to innovation in both client service and as a law firm. The firm has long been known for its innovative approach, consistently developing new tools to enhance service delivery and crafting inventive solutions for its clients.

Winners will be announced for each category at the Innovative Lawyers Awards North America on December 9, 2024, in New York.
