The Vikings will return to Jersey's shores this February half term for a week of action-packed fun at the Maritime Museum.
Kindly sponsored by Ogier, professional history reenactors from UK-based Griffin Historical will "invade" the Maritime Museum as Vikings for an exciting programme of family-friendly events.

To kick off our dedicated programme of family fun events, adventures and activities for 2023, we're excited to welcome the Vikings back to Jersey for the February half term. Interactive learning through events like this offers a valuable opportunity to learn more about our Island's history and enjoy a fun, family day out."
Beginning Monday 13 February, the Vikings will share stories from Norse myths and legends and lead a host of action activities, including combats, feuds and duelling. Families will also be able to catch a glimpse into the daily life of these fierce Scandinavian traders and sea warriors, with object handling crafts and expert knowledge.
The Viking activities will include:
- discovering your Viking name
- a fun fact trail to test your Viking knowledge
- making your own runes and spelling your name
- designing and making your own Viking pendant
- exploring the complexities of Viking art
Nicky Lucas, Jersey Heritage's Community Events Curator, said: "We haven't seen the Vikings since 2020 and we can't wait to welcome them back to our shores! They are always so much fun and families have a fantastic experience when they come to the Maritime Museum for our Viking events. As well as lots of crafts and activities, there will be the opportunity to take part in a reenactment of the Battle of Stamford Bridge, a battle that most historians agree marked the end of the Viking era. Dressing up is optional but it does make the experience even more fun!"
Normal entry fees apply, with free entry for Jersey Heritage Members and children under six years old.
