Following a successful launch of its Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) in 2019, Reconciliation Australian has reaccredited Cooper Grace Ward for 2023.

The RAP is a formal agreement with Reconciliation Australia to support Indigenous businesses and boost employment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians. Its endorsement from Reconciliation Australia in 2019 recognised the firm's leadership position to advance Indigenous business.

In the opening address of the RAP, Managing Partner Charles Sweeney states, 'we are striving to take a more proactive role in lifting the principles and voices of First Nations people in the legal industry'.

After formally endorsing the CGW RAP, Karen Mundine, the CEO of Reconciliation Australia, mentioned that 'Cooper Grace Ward continues to play an important role in a network of more than 1,100 corporate, government, and not-for-profit organisations that have made a formal commitment to reconciliation through the RAP program'.

The RAP is a key part of CGW's range of diversity and inclusion initiatives, including our active diversity group, wellness committee and LGBTIQ+ support group.
