(No. 3) (Amendment) (No. 4) Regulations
2021 ('RMCO No. 3 Amendment No. 4
Regulations') were gazetted and came into force on 22
March 2021.
The MCO No. 4 Amendment No. 3 Regulations and RMCO No. 3 Amendment
No. 4 Regulations amend the First Schedules of
the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases
(Measures within Infected Local Areas) (Movement Control) (No. 4)
Regulations 2021 and the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases
(Measures within Infected Local Areas) (Recovery Movement Control)
(No. 3) Regulations 2021 respectively.
Under the MCO No. 4 Amendment No. 3 Regulations and the RMCO No. 3
Amendment No. 4, the district of Keningau in the state of Sabah,
which was previously subjected to a recovery movement control order
is now placed under a movement control order from 22 March 2021 to
31 March 2021.
With these amendments, there are now two areas in Malaysia that
are subjected to a movement control order, namely the districts of
Nabawan and Keningau in the state of Sabah.
Comments
The placing of Keningau under a movement control order is due to a
recent significant increase in local recorded Covid-19 cases. While
most parts of the country are no longer undergoing a movement
control order, this serves as a reminder that the fight to contain
the spread of Covid-19 in the country is by no means over.
