The Government of Anguilla is pleased to announce that on June 3rd and 4th 1999 it will be launching, in cooperation with the Anguilla Financial Services Association - AFSA, its computerised company registration system, ACORN
The ACORN launch will include a detailed presentation of the system and talks by industry representatives and Government officials on the offshore industry within Anguilla as well as discussion on the opportunities offered by the Jurisdiction. The launch will also include a Government- hosted and an AFSA - hosted evening reception for all attendees.
The ACORN system demands a high standard of due diligence and therefore in conjunction with the launch, KPMG will be holding a one day workshop on the subject of white collar crime, due diligence and compliance to be held on the first full day of the launch event ie the 3rd June. The workshop will be conducted by senior representatives of KPMG Forensic Group from Toronto, Canada.
ACORN is an interactive system that facilitates instantaneous incorporation of various types of corporate entities available under Anguilla's legislation and the filing of all registry documents 24 hours a day, 365 days a week from anywhere in the world.
The ACORN system is now fully operational and allows overseas agents, who are professionals or professional firms in the business of incorporating companies offshore on behalf of clients, to have direct access to the system. Further details are available on Click Contact Link
Prospective overseas agents can now 'test drive' ACORN on a unique simulator test site.
Details of how to arrange this can be obtained by contacting Anguilla's Registrar of Companies online at Click Contact Link
Favorable comment on the system has already been received and one of the first overseas users of the ACORN system , Mr. Chris Oldfield, Director of Overseas Company Registration Agents Limited - OCRA, comments:
"OCRA was delighted to be one of the first companies to become an ACORN user. Anguilla has a modern and user friendly set of legislation. The ACORN system is simple to use and the Anguillian authorities have provided excellent support. The licensing procedures are straightforward and are sensitive to the requirements for due diligence. The ability to obtain name approval and incorporate companies within minutes is self-evidently of value to both our clients and our international network of offices. The Group is already saving money on administration as thanks to ACORN the flow of telephone calls, facsimiles and courier packages between Anguilla and our offices is less than that for any other jurisidiction. ACORN is a thoughtful and all embracing implementation of an idea that many have discussed and only Anguilla has implemented. It will be a great success."
