On December 11, 2014 first call to bid number CNH-R01-C01/2015 for International Bidding process CNH-R01-L01/2015, regarding the procedure known as Round 1, initiated by the National Hydrocarbons Commission (Comisión Nacional de Hidrocarburos or CNH), was published in the Official Federal Gazette.

Said bidding process will be held for purposes of obtaining income for the state, in order to contribute to the long term development of the country, as oil and other hydrocarbons exploration and extraction activities will be carried out thereunder, by means of assignments to productive state-companies or through the execution of contracts with such productive state-companies or with the private sector.

CNH, as a Coordinated Regulatory Agency, has the power to carry out bidding processes for contracts concerning the exploration and extraction of oil and other hydrocarbons, and is responsible for their corresponding execution and administration.

Therefore, through the publication of the referred call to bid, the private sector (whether Mexican or foreign), including the productive state- companies, such as Petróleos Mexicanos, is invited to participate in the bidding process for the award of contracts for the exploration and extraction of hydrocarbons in fourteen contractual areas in shallow waters, in terms of the rules provided in the bidding guidelines, same which, according to the publication of the call, are available for consultation on the web site http://www.ronda1.gob.mx.
