In accordance with the new Advertising Law, approved by the National Council of the SR on 2 July 1996, advertising of tobacco products and alcoholic beverages will be prohibited after 1 September 1996.

As stated by the Slovak Minister of Economy Mr. Jan Ducky, the government is aware of the fact that by approving this Government proposal, one of the strictest legal regimes in the area of advertising of tobacco products and alcoholic beverages will be created.
