In an attempt to improve efficiency and speedy disposal of applications, the Copyright Office through a public notice dated February 01, 2018, has decided to transmit the Extracts of Register of Copyrights via email to all the registered owners of Copyright in addition to the current practice of transmission of Extracts of Register of Copyrights via post.
The public notice further stated that such an arrangement will be implemented with immediate effect.
Further in order to improve transparency, the Copyright Office has starter publishing a list of Registered Copyrights on their website on a monthly basis.
This initiative regarding transmitting extracts via email is an incredible move towards improving efficiency and digitization of intellectual property registrations.
