SEBI amends guidelines for preferential issue and institutional placement of units by a listed REIT

In view of the situation emerging out of the COVID-19 pandemic, SEBI has granted certain relaxations to listed Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) for raising of equity capital through preferential issue and institutional placement of units. Accordingly, SEBI has issued a Circular dated 28 September 2020 which modifies the extant guidelines for preferential issue and institutional placement of units by listed REITs (its Circular on Guidelines for preferential issue of units and institutional placement of units by a listed REIT dated 27 November 2019 which was subsequently revised through Circular dated 13 March 2020).
